UGA-Winship Cancer Research Summit · Atlanta, GA · March 2026
Research Poster Abstract published in proceedings March 2026

FDX1 and ARAF are Mediators of Persisters' Survival in Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Presented work from the Bhatt Lab at the Winship Cancer Institute identifying FDX1 and ARAF as key mediators of persister-cell survival in acute myeloid leukemia. The poster traces an RNA-Seq + DepMap pipeline that surfaced these targets as candidates for combination therapy aimed at chemoresistance — the cellular state that allows a small subpopulation of leukemic cells to survive lethal therapy and seed relapse.

Audience included undergraduate & graduate students and research faculty across the UGA & Emory cancer-research community.

Acute Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy in a Pediatric Patient with Refractory Ulcerative Colitis on Ustekinumab–Upadacitinib Dual-Targeted Therapy: A Case Report.

Co-authored case report from the Kugathasan Laboratory at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, documenting a novel pediatric presentation of AIDP emerging in a patient on dual-biologic therapy (Ustekinumab + Upadacitinib) for refractory ulcerative colitis. The poster walks through the clinical presentation, lab findings, and decision points faced when separating disease-driven neuropathy from treatment-driven neuropathy.

Abstract submitted, accepted, and presented at GT's Fall Undergraduate Research Symposium. Manuscript currently under peer review for publication.

GT Spring Neuroscience Research Symposium

Research Poster Abstract published April 2024

Goal-Directed Learning and Interneuron Deficits in Alzheimer's Disease.

Earlier work from the Singer Lab at the Petit Institute for Bioengineering & Bioscience (Georgia Tech), examining hippocampal inhibition deficits in 5XFAD mutant mice. The poster ties interneuron-level dysfunction to behavioral signatures of cognitive decline — a foothold for thinking about Alzheimer's not just as a neurodegenerative loss but as a circuit-level imbalance.
